Our campers are very patriotic, check out the beautiful flags they made for the upcoming holiday!
Here's how we did it in case you want to try:
Things
needed:
·
Blue, red, and white construction paper
·
A pair of scissors
·
Glue stick
Instructions:
1. Using
a pencil, outline stars on one of the sheets of white construction paper. Make them as big or small as your personal preference. Once outlined,
use the scissors to cut the stars out of the paper. Set them aside for now.
2. Cut
five 1-in. strips from the red construction paper. Cut these strips along the
longer 11-in. side of the sheet. Set these aside.
3. From
the blue construction paper, cut a square that is 3 in. by 3 in. Set it aside.
4. Take
one of the red strips that were previously cut and glue it to the other white sheet of construction paper. Make sure the
white piece of paper is lying horizontally and that the long edge of the red
strip aligns with the top right side of the white sheet. This is the top.
5. Leaving
approximately 1 in. of white showing after the first red strip, glue another
red strip on the white paper in the same manner. Continue to glue the rest of
the red strips with white showing in between them.
6. At
the top left corner of the striped paper, take the blue square and glue it in this
space.
7. Glue
the white stars you previously cut to the blue square. Let the glue dry and
display your flag.
